Quinte Children’s Homes Announces Closure After 25 Years of Service

Belleville, Ontario – March 22, 2024 – It is with gratitude for the journey that Quinte Children’s Homes (QCH), a Stevenson Waplak & Associates (SWA) company, announces it will be closing its doors on April 30, 2024 – after 25 years of dedicated service to children and youth in need across Ontario. Founded in 1999, QCH has been providing specialized therapeutic foster care services in a compassionate, caring and nurturing environment.

Throughout our years of operation, we have been committed to creating a difference in the lives of over hundreds of children and youth, offering them a stable home environment and the opportunity for a brighter future. Our unique model, centered around the concept of Parent Therapists, has ensured that each child in our care received not only the care and security of a family home but also specialized support to overcome their challenges.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all who have been part of this remarkable journey:

  • Our government partners and the Children’s Aid Society (CAS): Your collaboration and support have been pivotal in our mission to provide high-quality care and support to those in need.
  • The Quinte Children’s Homes team: Your dedication, passion, and tireless work have been the backbone of our success. Your commitment to our values and the youth we serve has made all the difference.
  • Our foster homes: As “professional parents”, you have opened your hearts and homes, providing support, stability, and care. Your role has been crucial in the healing and growth of many young lives.
  • Our community supporters: Your generosity and belief in our mission have empowered us to extend our reach and impact.

As we prepare to close, we reflect on the positive impacts we have made and the lives we have touched. The decision to close has not been easy, but we are proud of the work we have accomplished and the difference we have made in the community.

Quinte Children’s Homes remains dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for the children and families currently in our care. We are working closely with our partners to ensure support systems are in place for everyone affected by this closure.
